Trend Micro Sysclean Instructions. For a printer friendly version click here. By using this program or the following procedure you assume all responsibility for the results. Use at your own risk!

1.Download Trend Micro SysClean (sysclean.com) from here and the latest virus pattern files (lptxxx.zip, xxx= version number) from here to your desktop.

2. Create a temporary directory in your C: drive by:

a. Double clicking on the "My Computer" icon and then double clicking on the C: drive (Local Disk in Win XP).

b. Right click anywhere in the open space and select "New" then "Folder" from the pop up menu.

c. Name the new folder anything you wish.

3. Now move the "sysclean.com" and the "lptxxx.zip" to the new directory you made by:

a. Right clicking on the file and selecting "Cut" from the pop up menu.

b. Then open the new directory you made by double clicking on it.

c. Right click in the open area and select "Paste" from the pop up menu.

d. Repeat these steps for the other file.

4.Close all programs currently running on your computer, including your anti-virus and other security software.

5. Open the new directory and double click on the "sysclean.com" file.

6. Re-enable your anti-virus and manually run a scan.

Trend Micro SysClean will create a text file called 'sysclean.txt' in the directory that you put it in.
